Installing Solman is necessary?

Hi All,

We have signed up with SAP Partner Edge for Application Development.

We have taken the licenses for ECC, CRM, SRM etc.

We have started setting up the ECC & CRM Systems.

Does Installing the solution manager is also mandatory.
